After missing the last couple of days windsurfing due to our van being in the garage for a service/mot, several things were picked up and we got quite a big bill but our beloved VW has done nearly 160,000 miles now and is worth every penny! After heading to the nurse for a shingles jab I was keen to get out today even if ther forecast was not great with only marginal winds with rain. Its getting to the time of year when I am not overly keen on open sea sailing so I headed over to Levington to check out the conditions. I arrived around 12 with plenty of water and enough breeze to tempt me into rigging 6.5, sadly that was no way big enough so came in to change to 7.5. I spent ages sailing across the corner waiting for a gust, I got flying in patches but it was not helped by a strong incoming tide! I am not keen on big sail foiling so might be more choosy on the conditions I sail in over the winter, it is heavy in the hands and a pain to gybe. So a pretty crap session but at least it did not rain and the highlight was a fly past by a large number of geese! Tomorrow is looking like a complete washout!!!!
PS – was pleased to get a bike on the BBC weather at lunchtime, been a good month so far:)
